
Looking out my window this morning, its hard to believe that spring is just around the corner. The fresh blanket of snow will provide nourishment to the irises that will soon be emerging from the ground. Our first program this March will be on Xeriscaping. You will learn to use plants in your garden that you dont have to worry about watering. It was designed originally for western gardens, but certainly is applicable around here, particularly during the long dry spells we get around here in the summer.

Another event you might want to attend this spring is the Orchid Show at
the NY Botanical Garden. The show
will be open from February 23 through April 6. There will be no New York International
Orchid Show this year, so this will be your only chance to see a large
collections of orchids in bloom in our area.
